Do what you love!!!

Guys, if you love something, go after it!! Though there are people out there with the same interest as you, that doesn’t mean you should give up… Work hard and reach your goals and stop worrying about other people! This is what I love to do, So therefore I will stop for no one to reach what i have set out to achieve!

Self-Promo

Ok guys, Here I was after something different yet again. I constantly want to do new things when it comes to photography and wanted to have a person incorporated into my photo. For me to take a good photograph I have to break things up into 3 different groups… Those are Thinking about what I’m going to shoot, Find a location to shoot and a model, and focus on what I’m doing when I get there. Here is a first year modeling for me, her name is Cate Gordon, she was an amazing model and was super cooperative.

Untitled_Panorama2For our digital imaging class, We were given an assignment to put a panoramic together and make a print of it. In order to make a Panoramic you must use a tripod and take plenty of photos in order to stitch the image and make it flow nicely. This image has a total of 29 photographs. This is taken close to Winston Salem NC, With a D700 24-85mm 2.8 lens. I chose this location after an old friend told me about it. I hope you guys enjoy the image!

The Portal of Death!

The Portal of Death!

Well I don’t really know what to say about this image hahaha. I did it for a self promo and was wanting to attempt a composite shot. So as me and my girlfriend where walking around a trail in Thomasville NC, I stumbled across an amazing opening in the woods. I figured i could find a way to incorporate this into an image so after some research, I stumbled across many photos that helped to lead me to this photo. Here is Gracie Phillips, Trying to climb into a portal (or from)… I set up two sb800’s for each photo and merged the two together… I don’t think I have ever done anything this dark before so enjoy because its probably the last time haha

Tear sheet assignment

So on Monday our lighting teacher gave us an assignment to photograph a product of our choosing… But, we had to copy the product from a magazine or a photo online. This was challenging because we had to make both images look very close to each other. I had a huge problem with the ice in my photograph so for the one i’m showing the photo with no ice. In order to photograph this i had to use 5 hot lights and 3 white panels. I also shot this with a 70-200mm on a nikon D700. For the liquid I used water and an orange food color.

Client Assignment (Eggs)

Client Assignment (Eggs)

For one of our client assignments we were told to photograph eggs. As soon as I heard this I thought to myself, “Darn, This is going to be hard to do and still keep things with a professional look”. So a few days go by and it finally hit me to incorporate people into my shots… That’s exactly what I did. So I called my girlfriend up and asked her if she knew a good location to photograph people. She ended up have me drive all the way to Winston Salem NC (Downtown). There, you could fine all sorts of people to photograph. Now that location was decided I needed to print out all of the model releases and assistances. So with the help of my two good friends we hit the road. These photos where taken in front of the Stevens Center with one mono-light and a 50mm lens.

Pringles

duncan_k_pringles

Earlier this week I was given an assignment to photograph a Pringles can. We where broke up into groups of three and where told to design 5 sketched out diagrams. We then chose a sketch that was provided by one of the students and begin thinking about how we would go about photographing. I really enjoyed working with the “Art Director” because it gave me a chance too capture not only what i was wanting but also the one who designed it… Here is the photo I captured. Also a special thanks to Hannah Wallace for being so photogenic. (photos by Kyle Duncan)
